"Joshua" Twin Vintage Porch Swings usually cost $2405. Our swings are built using kiln-dried, special-category treated ground-contact lumber, like telephone poles. We hand-select our lumber from a sustainable source. They can endure the weather in all U.S. climates for many years. Our swings are hand-cut and assembled with engineering in mind, then taken apart to prepare, hand-paint, and hand-package securely for shipment. No one takes this much care building an outdoor solid wood product -- we can guarantee that!
The premium Vintage White finish ($150) includes spot-priming, fully-priming, and undergoing four additional processes with hand-applied paint and clear sealant to provide many years of weather-protection. Did you know everything we do is by hand? We don't use automation or sprayers!
We recommend the tan synthetic rope upgrade ($125 - $150 for 10' to 14' ceilings), which looks similar to natural Manila rope but is smoother to the touch, will not stretch much nor rot, and last many, many years in all types of weather. Humidity causes natural rope to swell and may require annual adjustments (re-tying). If you prefer the natural Manila rope, it is provided with the swing frame for ceilings up to 10'. Black synthetic rope can be purchased for $200 - $250.
Of course we provide four heavy-duty, zinc-coated ceiling eye screws, which screw directly into the 2" sides of your 2"x6" ceiling joists, with no blocking necessary unless your home is historic and need the additional support. Each ceiling bolt holds 320 lbs of weight, so you can add another 1000 lbs of weight onto the swing, which averages around 200 to 280 lbs with cushions.
The twin-sized Grade A VPS Cushion Package ($1767) includes a 75" x 39" x 5" high-density outdoor furniture foam insert lined with a moisture-wicking liner and a hidden-zipper Sunbrella fabric cover; two 9" wide by 39" long bolster pillows; and five 22" square pillows in a plethora of fabrics. All Sunbrella fabric covers we make are spot-treatable, machine-washable, air-dry nicely back on the inserts, and are self-welted (i.e. piping is the same color fabric) as standard for increased durability. You can choose from Canvas, Cast, Spectrum, Frequency, Bliss, and Dolce styles in this category, among others. Thicker, textured, and woven patterns may cost additional. Shipping via FedEx Ground directly to your home in the 48 continental United States usually costs up to $425 per swing frame and $325 per cushion package, but currently, we cover this cost.
